Swami Vishnu-devananda's Birthday Celebrations - Today Dec 31st

On 31st of December is Yoga Master Swami Vishnu-devananda's 81st birthday anniversary. Swami Vishnu-devanandaji lived from 1927 to 1993. He was born in Kerala/South India. He was a real pioneer of Yoga and Meditation in Europe and America, even in India. He was one of the foremost disciples of Yogi Sri Swami Sivananda (1887-1963) . In 1957 Swami Vishnu-devananda came to the West. He was the founder the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers in the West . He also was a peace activist, flying over the Berlin Wall in 1983, and over the Suez Canal in the end of the 60s. He trained thousands of Yoga Teachers. I myself had the privilege to learn from him. I spent 12 years in his centers in Europe and America, was his assistent for nearly a year. Later, in 1992, I started the first Yoga Vidya Center in Frankfurt . Swamiji's energy and guidance keeps inspiring me and the many Yoga Teachers trained at Yoga Vidya.
